"In life, it's not the most genetic person who wins or the guy who has the most potential to win. It's the person with perseverance who wins. Always wants to get up and go at it again. That's the guy you need to be."
-Greg Plitt

Greg Plitt tries to instill the thought of never giving into fear. He believes that failing at something is ten times better than saying what if. Failing at something at least means that you got out there and tried, you gave it your all and you can try again harder next time. A person that says what if didn't even try, they gave into fear and didn't believe that they could do it. Greg Plitt has given me the courage and knowledge to believe in my self to allow my talent to flow naturally through me.

Getting ready for summer

Finally getting around to waxing my snowboards for the summer! I am missing a snowboard out of this collection, but this is the majority of them. Every summer I put a thick layer of wax on all of my snowboards. I do this so the base of the snowboard does not get dry over the long hot summer. If the bases get dry then they will not accept any wax for future races.
The two snowboards on the left are my Giant Slalom snowboards. The blue board all the way to the left is made by Donek which is a company in Denver Colorado that specializes in making race boards, but they can also make normal snowboards too. The white board in the middle is my maine Giant Slalom snowboard. This board is custom made by Kessler, which is a company that is based out of Austria. The all black on to the right of the white snowboard is my snowboardcross board; this one is made by Head Snowboards. The one all the way to the right is my every day junk board it is made by Never Summer out of Colorado, I have had this board for five years, and it is just starting to break down.

This is another shot of the base of my Kessler. This snowboard is 185cm long and 19.5cm at its narrowest.

First Race Pictures

These are pictures from my first race of the year in Maine. The race was a Giant Slalom and Slalom USASA race in Greenwood, Maine. The mountain we raced at is called Mt. Abram. There is about a 1,150 foot vertical drop. It is not the biggest mountain by any means, but it is a great mountain to ride at. Great, friendly, and helpful staff they can always help with whatever needs to be worked on.
In Giant Slalom I received first place in the Mens Jams category. I received the same placing in Slalom. The grooming was horrible that day because it had been too cold the night before to groom so they had to groom that morning. Or at least that was the story that all of the racers got.

First Race

At my first race of the year I placed first in both Giant Slalom and Slalom. I was racing at Mt. Abram in Greenwood, Maine. I had four other people in my division for the day. My time was competing with the open class men racers. Open Class is the best and fastest group you can be in. I decided to take one more year to improve my skills before I jumped to Open Class. In that race if I was in open I would have gotten second place over all. I am pretty excited with my times and placing that day. It was good to be home and race with my old friends again.
